I have failed.

I know why.

But there’s too much distractions in this world.

I mustn’t become a person who do not practice what he say.

I must avoid the mistakes of others.

Its easy to be mediocre but difficult to be the best.

On the other hand, if you cannot be the best, why do you exist?

I am not giving up. Its really time to focus and KICK SOME ASS.

Upgrading to Wordpress 2.5.1 and some thoughts

Upgrading

Hm.. I managed to beat procrastination and finally upgraded my system to wordpress 2.5.1.

Wordpress 2.5.1

First thing, the whole look is now better. More stylish. I’m not really used to it though. But generally its a pretty good experience. The whole User Interface is revamped. The color is changed. The layout is roughly the same.

If you are planning to upgrade your wordpress, just stay tune. I will post something on the upgrading process later on. The whole process is really really very simple. Just have to click your mouse a few times. As simple as that!

About Technology

Some people hate high tech stuff. Cos they fear of upgrading. They say they are not technically inclined. To me, that’s really is B.S. Alright, i shan’t be mean. But we can’t really make everyone happy in this world right? 6 billion plus people?

Anyway, the development of web 2.0 is really exciting. I can’t wait to see how it goes. The thing about the internet is that its development is simply fascinating. I read an article a while ago, regarding the WWW. We are 15 years into the internet but actually its still in its infancy.

I really wonder if I will actually live to see how far it can goes. By the time if I have grandchildren, maybe AI would already have taken over the world.

What do you think? What are your thoughts? Drop me a note or a comment. I love to hear from you.

Two Hours of Volunteering

I went for my first volunteering experience today at HELP Family Service Centre. Click here to find out more about it.

Basically, its a centre for single parents families. So the kids there basically come from mostly divorced families.

I was there just to stand in for 2 hours upon my friend’s request.

It was a rather meaningful experience. I realized something though.

I can only be patient to people whom I am not close with. The fact means I talk nicer to a stranger rather than my own family and friends.

What a shame.

Planning is not done yet. I really have to combat procrastination.

The Meaning of Life

What is the true meaning of life?

Have you ever asked yourself this question before?

The true meaning of life.

Who am I? Where am I going? I have currently no answers to that question.

My name is Xu Zhenyao. I will be graduating soon from Nanyang Technological University of Singapore.

Soon to be mechanical engineer specializing in mechatronics. soon to be 25 years old.

A few months back, I got hooked into marketing online and eventually into personal development. But today, after a few audio books and self help books, am I really a better person?

Well… I am seriously deficient in self esteem. I am stucked right now.

Almost graduated and don’t really know where to go on from here.

What do I do?

Solution

People of this technological age always turn to Google.

Actually I have been reading this 2 personal development blog. Pickthebrain and TheChangeBlog

I found this 2 articles.
Finding The Path to Meaningful Existence
What do You REALLY Want?

Finding the Path to Meaningful Existence

Peter Clemens is a brilliant blogger, at least in my perspective. I came across his blog from pickthebrain.com

In this article, the guest post Kent N.Thune “The Financial Philosopher” talks about how to define your own life. The steps that you can take to start discovering the path to your life.

He mentions that it is often useless for people to read self help books, attend seminars because of this thing called “State Effect” and “Trait Effect”.

This is something that I find very very true. A lot of people I have heard about said that after the seminar, their life goes back to normal. It’s like morphine. You get that instant high during the motivational speeches by the speaker. After that, its back to ground zero or square one.

“Do not let people define success for you.”

I guess in pursuit of success, people often lose their mind. Will you be like one of them? Will I be like one of them?

What Do You REALLY want?

John Wesley, another self help guru talks about having a focus. You don’t have to follow the usual path to land of riches.

You can choose to lead a path of your own.

Ultimately, life is not a race. Or is it?

What about you

It ultimately boils to you. You must discover for yourself. No one can help you but yourself.

It is often said that, “the greatest enemy of mankind is no one but man himself.”

But is it really so easy?

Tomorrow I am going to sit down and plan my life. What I think I want in my life right now. I suggest you do the same. Drop me a note. Share it with me.

I will share my plan with you. I believe I will find “my way”, my piece of “Nirvana“.

Comments? What is your life? Have you found your definition yet?
